SFTP login fails or times out
SFTP says wrong password, connection refused or times out.
Use port 2022, the exact username from Settings and your current CoreX password; timeouts are usually your network.
Before you start: The Settings tab open.
Step by step
- Check the port is 2022, not 21 or 22.
- Copy the username again from Settings; it includes a dot and your server ID, and a typo there looks like a wrong password.
- Use your current CoreX account password; if you changed it, update FileZilla. Google accounts must set a password under Security first.
- The protocol must be SFTP, not FTP or FTPS.
- For timeouts, try another network or a hotspot, and allow FileZilla through your firewall.
- Too many failed logins can block you for a short time; wait 15 minutes before trying again.
Check it worked: You connect and see the files.
Why it happens: The SFTP password follows your CoreX password; networks often block unusual ports.
