DDoS protection and attacks

Is my server protected from DDoS, and what if it is attacked?

Filtering sits in front of CoreX servers; if your server is still being attacked, contact support with the times.

Before you start: The times the server became unreachable.

Step by step

  1. If players time out suddenly, check your email and the CoreX Discord first for a known outage.
  2. Note the start and end times and the exact error players saw.
  3. Check the console for signs of a bot attack (hundreds of join attempts); a whitelist or an anti-bot plugin helps against those.
  4. Contact support on Discord with the server ID and the times.
  5. Do not share your backend addresses publicly if you run a proxy.
  6. Technical details of the filtering are not published.

Check it worked: Support confirms and mitigates the attack.

Why it happens: Attacks flood the server's network with traffic.

Attacks are always handled by support.
