Ports and extra ports

What port is my server on, and how do I get another port for a plugin?

Your port is part of the address in the panel; extra ports for plugins like voice chat or maps are allocated in Network where available, or by support.

Before you start: The plugin's docs saying which port and protocol (TCP/UDP) it needs.

Step by step

  1. Your game port is after the colon in the panel address; server-port in server.properties must match it.
  2. Open Network to see your allocations, and add one if the button is available.
  3. If not, ask support for an extra port and say which plugin needs it.
  4. Put the new port in the plugin's config (for example Simple Voice Chat: port in voicechat-server.properties; Dynmap: webserver-port).
  5. Restart the server from the Console tab so the plugin opens the port.
  6. Never change server-port to something else; the server will not be reachable.

Check it worked: The plugin works on its port.

Why it happens: Each server has its own port on a shared IP.

Extra ports may need support.
