CoreX Hosting

Choosing a Minecraft host? Check these first.

The questions that decide whether hosting is good, with CoreX’s published answer to each. Ask every host you are considering the same questions.

What to checkWhy it mattersCoreX
Price for the memory you needCompare the monthly price of the RAM your server needs, and whether cheaper tiers drop features.Minecraft plans run from 2 GB to 64 GB: 2 GB is $2.99, 8 GB is $11.99, 16 GB is $23.99 a month. Every size gets the same features; only the resources change.
Player slotsSome hosts cap players per plan. Check whether you are paying for slots or for resources.Plans are sized by memory, not player slots. How many players a server holds depends on what it runs, not on a number on the invoice.
Contract and cancellingLook for minimum terms, setup fees and cancellation fees.No minimum term, no setup fee and no cancellation fee. Pay monthly, or yearly and get 12 months for the price of 10 (2 months free).
CPU allowanceMany hosts never say how much CPU a plan gets. Minecraft is sensitive to it, so ask.Published for every size: 200% (2 CPU threads) at 2 GB, rising to 4800% at 64 GB.
StorageCheck the disk space each plan includes, and what more costs.5 GB of disk for every GB of RAM (10 GB on the 2 GB plan). Extra storage is $7.00 a month per 100 GB.
Server software and versionsCheck which server types you can run and whether switching means a support ticket.Paper, Purpur, Folia, Vanilla and Fabric can be switched at any time from the panel, with every release listed and the right Java version set for you. Forge is chosen when ordering; Spigot and Bukkit plugins and NeoForge packs run too.
Plugins and modsCheck whether installing a plugin means downloading and uploading jars by hand. The Plugins tab installs plugins from Modrinth in one click, picking the build made for your server software and version. A Mods tab does the same for Fabric and Forge mods.
Control panelCheck what you can do yourself without opening a ticket.Console, file manager, SFTP, Quick Settings for server.properties, schedules, backups, sub-users with chosen permissions, a server splitter and an activity log, all in the CoreX panel on every plan.
Moving from another hostAsk how you get your world and files across. The panel’s Import tab connects to your old host over SFTP and copies your server across for you.
BackupsCheck how many backups are included, and whether you can restore them yourself.Take and restore backups yourself from the panel. Plans from 12 GB include backup slots (up to 3); extra slots are $5.00 a month each.
UpgradingCheck whether a bigger plan means moving to a new server.Upgrade at any time: you pay only for the rest of the current period, and your world, plugins and settings stay where they are.
More than MinecraftIf you also run a bot or a website, check whether they need a second provider.Discord bot hosting from $0.99 a month (512 MB, Node.js or Python) and website hosting from $3.99 a month (static sites, Node.js or Python), on the same account and the same bill.
Where servers runPick a location close to most of your players.Servers run in Ashburn, United States. A location is listed only once the hardware behind it is live.
SupportCheck where you actually get answers, and how fast.Discord is the fastest way to reach the team, with email tickets from the client area as well. CoreX aims to answer within one working day, and a server that is down goes to the front of the queue.
