Frequently asked questions
What does CoreX host?
Minecraft servers, Discord bots and Linux VPSs are available, with separate plans and controls in the same client area. Website hosting, for static sites and Node.js or Python apps, has its own page with its plans and whether it is open for orders.
Is CoreX Hosting the crypto mining company?
No. CoreX Hosting at corex-hosting.com hosts Minecraft servers, Discord bots and websites. It has nothing to do with cryptocurrency or mining, and it is not connected to CoreX Hosting at corexhosting.io (an ASIC miner hosting company) or any other business with a similar name. Mining is not allowed on CoreX servers.
What is Minecraft hosting?
It is a server we run for you, so your world stays online whether or not your own computer is. You pick how much memory the server gets, upload your world, plugins or mods, and your players connect to an address instead of to you.
How quickly is my server deployed?
Your server is created as soon as your order goes through, so you get panel access straight away. The first start still needs a moment to generate the world and download the server jar you picked.
Can I upgrade my RAM later?
Yes. Plans are sized by memory, and you can move up or down a plan from the client area. Your world and files stay where they are, and only the allocation changes.
Do you support modded Minecraft?
Yes. You can run Fabric, Forge or NeoForge and upload a modpack yourself. Modded servers want more memory than vanilla, so 6 GB is a sensible starting point and 12 GB or more is the one to pick for bigger packs.
Do you support plugins?
Yes. Paper, Spigot and Purpur all run fine, and you get file access to drop in plugins and edit their configs. There is no restricted list of what you are allowed to install.
Where are your servers located?
Ashburn, Virginia (US East). Brussels, Belgium (EU West) is open until October 19, 2026; after that its servers are moved to Virginia automatically. Live availability is shown on the locations page.
Can I cancel my plan?
Yes, from the client area, and there is no minimum term. Your server keeps running until the end of the period you have already paid for.
How does billing work?
You pick monthly or yearly at checkout. Monthly renews every month at the listed price; yearly is paid a year up front and gives you twelve months for the price of ten. Changing plans is prorated against what you have already paid.
Do I need a dedicated IP?
Most servers do not. Without one your server runs on a shared node IP with its own port, which players can still connect to. A dedicated IP gives you your own address with no port number to remember, and it is an optional monthly add-on on any plan, priced on the pricing page.
What hardware do servers run on?
Servers run by CoreX in Virginia (and Belgium until October 19, 2026). Your plan sets your share of CPU time (shown as a percentage of one CPU thread) and your memory, which is reserved for your server alone.
Do I need to know Linux to run a server?
No. Everything is done through the control panel: start and stop the server, read the console, edit files, and manage backups. SSH-style access is there if you want it, but nothing requires it.
Do you offer refunds?
No. All sales are final once a purchase completes, because the server is provisioned and the resources are reserved straight away. The only exceptions are a genuine error on our side, such as a double charge or a server we could not provide, and cases where a refund is required by law. You can cancel anytime and keep the server until the period you paid for runs out.
How quickly do you reply to support?
CoreX is a small operation without round the clock staffing, so we do not promise a response time we cannot keep. In practice messages are answered within one working day, and anything about a server being down goes to the front of the queue.
What happens to my world if I stop paying?
The server is suspended rather than wiped immediately, so you have time to pull a backup of your world before anything is removed.
Do I need to give CoreX access to my Discord account to host a bot?
No. Create your bot in the Discord Developer Portal and save its token under Environment. The panel hides saved values; your bot and people with file, backup or infrastructure access may still be able to read them. CoreX never signs in to Discord as you and staff will never ask you to send your token or password.
Which languages can a hosted Discord bot use?
Node.js and Python, in the supported versions listed on the bot hosting page. Dependencies listed in package.json or requirements.txt are installed for you before the bot starts.
What is the difference between a VPS and the other plans?
A Minecraft or bot plan is one application that CoreX runs for you, with a panel built for it. A VPS is a Linux virtual machine with root access over SSH and a dedicated IPv4. You manage its software yourself. Available plans and locations are listed on the VPS page.
