Automatic renewal failed: update your card
I got an email that my renewal payment failed. What now?
Update your saved card in Billing and pay the open invoice; CoreX retries a failed automatic charge up to 3 times, 24 hours apart.
Before you start: A working card and access to the client area.
Step by step
- Open Billing and look for the open (unpaid) renewal invoice and its due date.
- Choose to change the saved payment method. You are sent to Stripe's secure page to add the new card; CoreX never sees the full number.
- Back on Billing, open the unpaid invoice and pay it now rather than waiting for the next retry.
- If your bank asks for approval in its app, approve it.
- Remember: a server still unpaid 3 days after the due date is suspended (stopped, files kept). Paying brings it back.
Check it worked: The invoice is Paid, and the next renewal will use the new card.
Why it happens: The saved card expired, was replaced, had no funds, or the bank blocked a recurring charge.
If the new card is also declined, see the card declined guide; support can check the invoice if you send its number.
