How do I give myself op?

Run op YourName in the console.

Before you start: Your exact Minecraft name.

Step by step

1. Open the Console tab of your server while it is running.
2. Type op YourName (no slash, your exact Minecraft name) and press Enter.
3. The console answers "Made YourName a server operator"; it works straight away, no restart needed.
4. Remove op from someone with deop Name.
5. The op level is set in server.properties (op-permission-level, default 4 = everything).
6. Give staff ranks with LuckPerms instead of op where you can, because op gives every permission.

Check it worked: You can use /gamemode and other op commands in game.

Why it happens: Operators can use all vanilla commands; plugin permissions are managed separately.
