Install a modpack or CurseForge server pack

How do I put a modpack on my server?

Download the pack's server files, upload and unzip them, set the matching loader/version, and start.

Before you start: The modpack's server pack (a zip labelled "Server Files" on CurseForge/Modrinth) and enough RAM for the pack.

Step by step

  1. Download the server pack for the exact pack version your players use.
  2. Take a backup, then clear the old server files if this is a fresh install (keep a copy of worlds you want).
  3. Upload the zip in Files and use Unarchive; move the contents to the root if they unpacked into a subfolder.
  4. Match the loader: Forge/NeoForge packs need Forge (ask support to switch); Fabric packs use Fabric in Versions with the same Minecraft version.
  5. If the pack has an installer or start script, ask support or use the developer service; the server must start from the jar CoreX runs.
  6. Start and wait: first starts of big packs take several minutes.
  7. Players install the same pack version in their launcher.

Check it worked: The console shows "Done" and players with the pack can join.

Why it happens: One-click modpack install is not available; packs are installed from their server pack.

Packs that need a special start script may need support to set up.
