Friends cannot join but you can

I can join but my friends can't.

Friends are usually using a different address, a different game version, or are not on the whitelist.

Before you start: The exact address and version your friends use, and what error they see.

Step by step

1. Send them the address copied from the panel (not "localhost" or an old address).
2. Ask for the exact error message; each has its own guide here.
3. Check the whitelist: whitelist list in the console; add them with whitelist add Name.
4. Check the version: they must use the server's version (or you add ViaVersion).
5. On modded servers they need the same modpack version.
6. If they are on a school/work network, ask them to try a phone hotspot.
7. Check banned-players.json in Files in case they were banned by accident (pardon Name to undo).

Check it worked: Your friends can join.

Why it happens: When the server works for you, the problem is on the friend's side or in who is allowed.
