Download your world or files
How do I download my world?
Stop the server, then download the world folder as a zip from Files, or with SFTP for big worlds.
Before you start: Enough free space on your PC for the world.
Step by step
- Run save-all in the console, then press Stop so the world is fully written to disk.
- In Files, tick the world folders (world, world_nether, world_the_end, or your level-name) and choose Archive/Compress.
- Download the zip that appears next to the folders by clicking it and choosing Download.
- For worlds over a few GB, use SFTP (FileZilla) and drag the folders to your PC instead; it resumes if the connection drops.
- Or download a backup from the Backups tab, which is already a single archive of the whole server.
- To play it in singleplayer, unzip it into .minecraft/saves. Move world_nether into world as DIM-1 and world_the_end as DIM1 for the other dimensions.
- Delete the zip from the server afterwards to free disk space.
Check it worked: You have a zip that opens in singleplayer.
Why it happens: Downloading while the server runs can give a half-saved copy.
