Disk full: see what uses space

My disk is full. What is taking up space?

Worlds, backups stored as files, logs and map plugin tiles are the usual culprits; delete what you do not need or add storage.

Before you start: Files open in the panel.

Step by step

  1. Check Statistics for disk used against the limit.
  2. In Files, look at folder sizes: world folders, logs, crash-reports, plugins/dynmap or BlueMap tiles, and old zips.
  3. Delete old .log.gz files in logs and old files in crash-reports; the server does not need them.
  4. Delete zips you already extracted, and old world copies (download them first if unsure).
  5. Map plugins can use many GB: lower their render range or delete their tiles and render again.
  6. Trim a huge world with a smaller world border and a tool like MCA Selector on your PC.
  7. Add storage in Billing ($7/month per 100 GB) or upgrade the plan if you need it all.

Check it worked: Disk use is comfortably below the limit.

Why it happens: Each plan has a disk limit (5 GB per GB of RAM).
