Build a plugin, resource pack, custom model or datapack with the AI
Can the AI Builder make a real plugin, a texture pack or a custom model for me?
Yes: in game just ask (/ai build me a rocket launcher), or in the AI Builder tab choose "Create a project". The AI plans it, writes every file, checks the result, and installs it on your server: a plugin is compiled on your own server and loaded. You can also download every project as a zip.
Before you start: The AI Builder add-on with an AI key connected, and the CoreXAI plugin installed from the AI Builder tab (it is what builds plugins on your server). Only if you want to build a plugin yourself do you need a JDK and Maven on your own computer.
Step by step
- Open your server, click AI Builder, and switch the box at the top from "Change this server" to "Create a project".
- Choose Plugin, Resource pack, Custom model or Datapack, then describe what you want: commands, permissions, how an item should look, which Minecraft item a model sits on.
- Leave "Install it on this server when it is built" ticked to have it put on the server for you, or untick it to only get the download. Click Build it. The plan appears as a checklist and is ticked off while the files are written.
- When it says Ready, open the task: you can read every file, see textures as pictures, and click Download to get the zip.
- Plugin: your server compiles it and loads it straight away (a new version of a plugin that is already running loads with a restart, which the AI does for you unless AI Settings say not to restart). If the build fails, the AI is told what the compiler said and fixes it. To build it yourself instead, unzip the download and run "mvn package".
- Resource pack or custom model: click "Use as the server resource pack" to have every player offered it on joining (it sets resource-pack and its SHA-1 in server.properties; restart afterwards), or put the zip in your own resourcepacks folder. A custom model's README has the /give command.
- Datapack: click "Install on this server" to copy it into your world's datapacks folder and reload it.
- To change a project later, open it and click "Change it", then say what should be different; it keeps its files and makes a new version.
Check it worked: The task shows Done with a download, the zip opens with the files listed in the task, and (for a plugin) "mvn package" finishes with a jar in the target folder.
Why it happens: A project is built in its own workspace, away from your server files. It is validated before you can download it: a plugin must have a real main class, working commands and build file, a pack must have every texture and model its files point at, and code that would run programs, load code from the internet or give operator is refused.
