Recover after data loss or griefing

My world got wiped, griefed or corrupted. What can I do?

Restore your latest backup, or roll back the griefer with CoreProtect; CoreX cannot promise to recover a specific moment for you.

Before you start: Your backups list, and CoreProtect if installed.

Step by step

1. Stop the server so nothing else is overwritten.
2. Check Backups for the most recent good backup and restore it (see the restore guide).
3. For griefing only, CoreProtect can undo it without losing everything else (see that guide).
4. If a world folder was deleted by accident and you have no backup, contact support straight away; CoreX's platform backups are not guaranteed to contain it.
5. Afterwards: set daily backups, remove op from people who do not need it, and install CoreProtect.

Check it worked: The world is back to a good state.

Why it happens: Only your own backups (and logging plugins) can reliably undo damage.

No backup at all: contact support quickly with the server ID and time; recovery is not guaranteed.
