Automatic daily backups
Can backups happen automatically?
Yes: turn on Automatic backups in the Backups tab and choose how often.
Before you start: At least one backup slot.
Step by step
- Open Backups and find the Automatic backups card.
- Switch it on and choose every 6 hours, every 12 hours, daily or weekly. Times are shown in your own time zone; pick a quiet time for your players.
- Choose what happens when every slot is used. Replace the oldest automatic backup keeps a recent backup at all times. Wait until there is room never removes anything, and skips runs until you free a slot.
- With replacing on, set Keep up to: how many slots automatic backups may use. The rest stay free for backups you make yourself.
- Click Save schedule. The card shows the next backup and how the last one went.
- To keep one backup for good, click the padlock on it. A locked backup cannot be deleted or replaced until you unlock it.
Check it worked: A new backup appears on schedule, marked Automatic.
Why it happens: The schedule runs without you being online and uses the backup slots your server already has.
