Put your website online

I have website hosting. How do I get my site showing?

Upload your pages into the public folder under Files, press Start, then open the address shown under Site settings.

Before you start: Your site's files. For a static site that is HTML, CSS and JavaScript, or the output folder of a build tool such as Vite, Astro or Hugo.

Step by step

  1. Open your site from the client area (it has a "Website" badge) and go to Files.
  2. Open the public folder and upload your files into it. The first page people see is public/index.html.
  3. Press Start at the top of the panel and open Console. It says which folder is being served and on which port.
  4. Open Site settings. The Address card shows where your site answers; click it to open your site.
  5. To change a page, upload the new file over the old one. Pages are checked on every visit, so the change shows at once; images, scripts and styles may take up to five minutes for someone who visited recently.
  6. If your build tool writes to dist or build instead of public, change Folder to serve under Site settings rather than moving files.

Check it worked: Your own page opens at the site's address.

Why it happens: A new site starts with a starter page so its address works straight away; your own files replace it.

If the address shows "This site is not available right now" while the Console says the site is running, contact support with your service ID.
