Give your site a free CoreX address
Can my site have a proper address instead of numbers and a port?
Yes: under Site settings, claim a free name ending in corex-hosting.com.
Before you start: A name of 3 to 32 letters, digits or dashes that nobody else has taken.
Step by step
- Open your site from the client area and go to Site settings in the left menu.
- Find the Free CoreX name card and type the name you want. It is checked as you type, and the card tells you if somebody already has it or it is not allowed.
- Click Claim. The Address card above then shows the full address, ending in corex-hosting.com, with a Copy button next to it.
- Make sure the site is started, then open the address. A new name can take a few minutes to start answering everywhere while DNS catches up.
- To change the name later, choose a new one in the same card: the old name keeps working until the new one is live, so visitors are never left without an address.
- To give the name up, release it from the same card. Your site keeps running and stays reachable at its direct address.
Check it worked: The Address card shows your name ending in corex-hosting.com and it opens your site.
Why it happens: A name is easier to share than an IP address and port.
If the name still does not answer after 30 minutes, contact support with the name and your service ID.
