Set up the free server address

How do I get a name like myserver.corex-hosting.com?

Choose a name in the Network tab; players can then join with that name instead of the IP and port.

Before you start: A name that is not taken (letters, digits and dashes).

Step by step

1. Open your server and click Network in the sidebar.
2. Enter the name you want and save. If it is taken, try another.
3. Wait a few minutes: the address can show as pending while it is created.
4. Join with name.corex-hosting.com in Minecraft (no port needed).
5. To change the name later, edit it in Network; the old name stops working.
6. The free address is released when the server is deleted.
7. If you also own a domain, you can point it at the free address or the IP with DNS records instead (see the own-domain guide).

Check it worked: Joining with the new name reaches your server.

Why it happens: The free address points at your server's IP and port for you.

If it stays pending for more than an hour, contact support.
