Change the MOTD, max players, difficulty, gamemode or PvP

Where do I change the server description, player limit, difficulty or PvP?

Use Quick Settings: change the value, save, and restart the server.

Before you start: The panel open on your server.

Step by step

1. Open your server and click Quick Settings in the sidebar; every field shows its current value from server.properties.
2. MOTD: the text under the server name in the multiplayer list. You can use colour codes like §a (green) or §l (bold).
3. Max players: the most people online at once. Setting it higher does not make the server stronger; match it to your plan.
4. Difficulty (peaceful, easy, normal, hard), gamemode (survival, creative, adventure, spectator), and force-gamemode to put everyone in that mode on join.
5. PvP on/off, allow-flight (turn on if players get "kicked for flying" with jetpack or elytra plugins), spawn-protection radius, view- and simulation-distance.
6. Save, then Restart the server so the changes load.

Check it worked: After the restart, the server list shows the new MOTD and the setting behaves as chosen.

Why it happens: These settings live in server.properties and are read when the server starts.
