CoreX Hosting

Put your Discord bot online

I bought Discord bot hosting. How do I get my bot running?

Upload your bot's code under Files, save its token under Environment, check the start file under Bot settings, then press Start and watch the Console.

Before you start: A bot you have already made in the Discord Developer Portal (discord.com/developers), its token, and its code (Node.js or Python).

Step by step

  1. Open your bot from the client area (it has a "Discord bot" badge) and go to Files.
  2. Upload your project: the main file (for example index.js or bot.py) and, next to it, package.json for Node.js or requirements.txt for Python. Do not upload node_modules; it is rebuilt for you.
  3. Open Environment, type the name your code reads the token from (often DISCORD_TOKEN or TOKEN), paste the token as the value and click Save variable. Saved values are hidden in the panel.
  4. Open Bot settings and check the runtime (Node.js or Python and its version) and the start file match your project. Save if you changed anything.
  5. Press Start at the top of the panel, then open Console. The first start installs your dependencies, which can take a minute.
  6. When your bot logs that it is ready, check it shows as online in your Discord server.

Check it worked: The Console shows your bot's own "ready" message and the bot is online in Discord.

Why it happens: Bot hosting starts empty: CoreX runs the bot you bring, it does not create one for you.

If the Console shows an error from CoreX itself rather than from your bot (for example the node is not answering), contact support with your service ID.
