Let Bedrock players join with Geyser and Floodgate

How do I set up Geyser so Bedrock players can join?

General Minecraft advice, not an official CoreX feature: install Geyser and Floodgate on Paper, make sure Geyser has a UDP port, and give Bedrock players the address and that port.

Before you start: A Paper or Purpur server and a port Geyser can use (the server port shared for UDP, or an extra port from support).

Step by step

  1. Install Geyser-Spigot and Floodgate from the Plugins tab (or their official downloads) and restart.
  2. Open plugins/Geyser-Spigot/config.yml. Under bedrock, set port to your server port (Geyser can share it on UDP) or an extra port support gave you; set clone-remote-port false.
  3. Set auth-type: floodgate so Bedrock players do not need a Java account.
  4. Restart. The console shows Geyser started on the port.
  5. Bedrock players add a server with the same host and the Bedrock port.
  6. Bedrock names get a prefix (usually a dot). Whitelist them with fwhitelist add Name or whitelist add .Name.

Check it worked: A Bedrock player can join and play.

Why it happens: Bedrock uses UDP on its own port, which Geyser listens on.

If the port is not reachable over UDP, ask support about an extra port.
